SC endorses expulsion of three NEA board members
Kathmandu, Jan 3: The Supreme Court, reversing its earlier order, on Tuesday, issued an order to endorsing the expulsion of three members of the Board of Directors of Nepal Electricity Authority.
Joint Spokesperson at SC Bishworaj Poudel informed that a division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki and Justice Jagdish Sharma Poudel delivered a verdict urging the concerned bodies not to implement the interim order.
On December 18, the government had scrapped the membership of Laxman Agrawal, Manoj Mishra and Suraj Lamichhane from the Board of Directors at NEA reasoning that they did not cooperate with NEA activities after the appointment of Kulman Ghising as the NEA Director. They had reached the court after ten days, but in vain.
